Prediction League Winner

Well that is over for another 4 1/2 years and I think we can all agree that it has been a special tournament where the footballing world elite came together and one by one the players that the commentators love to love and get excited when they touch a ball went home early, Ronald, Messi, Neymar Jr. all took early exits and they soon found a new name to climax over in Mbappe the 19 year old French star who topped the tournament with a stunning goal. We thought it was “coming home”! but it was not to be as England finished a much improved 4th. France became won the Coupe de Monde with a VAR flavoured world cup final 4 – 2 win against England’s victors Croatia.

Anyway I digress! Congratulations to our Swindon based Canary on a stunning Prediction league win. Thank you to all those that took part and with the football league kicking off in less than 3 weeks look out for our Mammoth 2018 – 2019 prediction league where you will predict every game in the Premier League, The Championship and League 1 – further details will be available over the next few days.

Coventry City Signings add hope for new Season

The tale of Coventry’s promotion at the first attempt from League 2 has been well documented and with the World Cup in Russia producing some classic football, Mark Robins been quietly plugging away to not only add quality to last seasons team but giving the fans a real expectation as the team prepare to return from their holidays to get back to the hard work of Pre-Season training.

Zain Westbrooke put pen to paper signing a 2 year deal after being released from Brentford before that momentous day at Wembley but was unable to take part in the remaining games of the season.

The day after the victory parade it was announced that Reise Allassani had signed a 2 year deal from Dulwich Hamlet. Reise was a prospect in Crystal Palace Academy but after an injury had to drop down the leagues to regain fitness and form. He was their top scorer during the 17/18 season scoring 17 goals from 31 appearances.

Last seasons League 1 finalists Shrewsbury failed to agree terms with defender Junior Brown and he soon found his way to Ryton to sign on the dotted line on a 2 year deal.  Brown joined Shrewsbury in June 2015, and quickly established himself as first-choice left back. Making 108 appearances and scoring 7 goals, only injury at the start of the 2017-18 campaign restricted the fans favourite adding to his impressive total.

The one that didn’t surprise the fans was the signing of Jonson Clarke-Harris. The striker was on loan from Rotherham at the end of last season and after being released was snapped up on a two year deal.

Bouwe Bosma has been snapped up from Lewes FC with a view to development and for the U23’s but so was Dominic Hyam (who has signed a new contract) last season and easily held his own in the first team.

Ryan Haynes who has been with the Sky Blues from a very young age has been sold to Shrewsbury. Good Luck with the move Ryan.

In the space of two days Robins has snapped up another free transfer from Shrewsbury snagging Abu Ogogo who has signed a three year contract. A product of Arsenal’s Academy, whilst at loan at Barnet he was spotted and signed for Dagenham and Redbridge.

After making over 250 appearances during a six year spell with Dagenham, where he was named captain, Abu joined Shrewsbury Town ahead of the 2015/16 season.

At the start of last season, Ogogo was named captain of the Shrews and played a pivotal part in their push for promotion to the Championship, thought they would ultimately fall just short in the Play-Off Final.

Robins has managed a bit of a coup no doubt with help from assistant Adi Viveash is securing the signature of Chelsea starlet Dujon Sterling on loan for the season. The 18 year old has represented England at U19’s level. Many Chelsea fans were tipping him to make a breakthrough into the Chelsea 1st team this coming season after making his 1st team debut last season in a  5 – 1 win vs. Nottingham Forest in the League Cup.

Knock out stages

please note that during the knock out stages the result entered will be the result on 90 mins or after extra time if that takes place. Penalties will not count towards the score. So if a match finishes on penalties the result will be that after extra time e.g. 0 – 0. I hope that is clear but if you have any questions please comment.
