I never really take pre-season friendly results as a sign of how the coming season is going to go. It’s all about match fitness, trying new things, integrating the new players e.t.c. But the failure so far to replace a 28 goal striker is looking bleak for Coventry fans. Being linked with Conor Chaplin from Portsmouth (mostly from the Portsmouth side and lazy journalism from the local rag) other than that Mark Robins has as usual been quiet on his intended targets although he has stated that he would like to add another 3 players before the start of the new season.

Coventry take on Championship Derby County tomorrow evening (25th July) kick off at 19:45 at Nuneaton’s Liberty Way ground and finish off their pre-season fixtures at The Hawthorns versus West Bromich Albion in the Cyrille Regis Memorial game on Saturday 28th July with kick off at 15:00.
