Charlie Daniels has consistently been a fans' favourite during his eight years at the club, playing an integral part in the Cherries' rise through the divisions. After spending his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur, the left-back progressed through the ranks at White Hart Lane to sign a professional contract in 2005. Daniels did not make a first-team appearance for Spurs, but had three loan spells during that period at Chesterfield, Leyton Orient and Gillingham. The English defender made a permanent move to Orient in 2009, making 117 appearances for the club and netting two goals. Daniels first arrived at Bournemouth during a loan spell in November 2011, with his move becoming permanent in January 2012. He celebrated promotion from League One with the club in 2013 and was part of a strong backline which went on to win the Championship in 2014/15. Daniels featured in all but one of the club’s Premier League games in their first season in the top flight, scoring three goals and winning the Players’ Player of the Season for 2015/16. He played an important part in the club’s ninth-placed finish the following season, not just defensively, as he also scored four goals against Hull City, Burnley, Arsenal and Middlesbrough. Daniels made 35 appearances in the Premier League in 2017/18, scoring the club's first goal with a thunderous goal-of-the-month strike against eventual champions Manchester City at Vitality Stadium in August 2017. Daniels played his part as the Cherries enjoyed their best start to a top-flight campaign in 2018/19 and made his 250th appearance for the club when he lined up in a 2-0 defeat at Wolves in December 2018.
